evaluation nation

Just got feedback and i'm pretty chuffed, people understood what it was all about which is good.
I think keeping it simple has payed off that way...
i'm pleased with the composition and monochromatic attributes, i think that they give the image a graphic feel and help combine each component into the final image. I tried to put subtle elements into the composition, like having my creation at the bottom of this stack of legendary figures symbolising my hope for future and my respect for the images that have inspired my work.
On paper people seemed to think i'd drawn all of these images myself....which is nice because it tells me that i was successful in assimulating these images into one style .
I'm feeling like everything went well and i did achieve the goal i intended but if i could do it again i would definitely plan ahead better and use different images, as these ones were never intented to be made into a montage when they were drawn, so i'd have rather had some fresh drawings that fit together better as a collage.
Its maybe not as technical as some peoples work is but i just learned the programs this year so i'm a beginner, i used my own drawings and some found images and scanned them into photoshop for a touch up before live trace and live paint in illustator, any more feedback would be welcomed.

monatage

this is my finished montage... i think, i don't want to resign myself to it yet.
i've made representations of characters that have inspired me and inserted my own creation into the mix, i know it looks simple but i worked long and hard to come up with this composition and i've tried to make use of some simple 'visual language' style tricks, notice how my creation is at the bottom of the stack?.... it does just bout fill my criterea from idea 2 though...

3rd and final idea is essentially the same as idea 2 only the ideas will be blossoming from the the head of an illustrated me.

i think whichever idea i go for i'll favour illustrator over photoshop for the actual manipulation of the images i use, i can scan my artwork in and use live trace and live paint to apply nice flat colours to them and i dont have to worry about scale because illustrator works using vector (line) information so theres no loss of quality when you enlarge a piece.

sorry agian, i know it just looks like mess. This idea is all about the stories i write and explores the development of a character, his evolution, inspiration, story and so on...
the idea is more personal and communicates much better than my 1st idea.

idea 1, sorry for the sketchy mess, basically a dull composition of character images and logos from things i love or have been inspired by or made..it doesn't really communicate anything other than 'look at the pretty characters'....

critical studies task6

This is my creation, I call him Titan, the image style was heavily influenced by japanese anime and manga but I've tried to break away from that to produce something less stylized... you can still see elements of anime influence though such as the thick outlines and thinner inlines.

The actual subject of the image was made for a story I'm working on, its supposed to be a demon thats as big as an office block. I got a lot of the ideas from some old school surrealist art and traditional chinese and japanese illustrations of demons and monsters.

I tried to make the creature look grotesque not gory and imposing like traditional concepts of the devil and demons in thye bible. For the face i decided against eyes becouse they can be a window into a subjects line of sight, thought ect, theres a lot that eyes can imply about a subject or image but i just wanted this to look kind of cold and thoughtless, the multiple mouths and countless teeth are to reprisent aggresion like when a dog bares its teeth only scarier. I tried to keep the shape of the body close to human so people can still relate to the character but i also tried to make that human shape slightly warped and unnatural looking. The horns are a reprisentation of traditional ideas about demons and devils.
